I jig with my drag pretty light as I tend to hold my rod fairly loosely while jigging.
If you add to much and dream a bit you could lose your gear if the drag is wound up.
Few days ago took a nice king close to the surface and was surprised, so nice to have light drag.
Also if you jig a snap it's nice to have light drag so you don't pull it's head off!
I agree with the other posts, mostly high drag is not needed so why risk loosing a knot or something and your fish.
Just add drag as you fight to adjust for the fish you have, unless you are onto large animals over structure.
The reel you have tend to bang a bit while jigging if it hasn't changed from when I owned one.
They don't have infinity anti reverse so go bang bang bang as you jig (hope I got the right reel but pretty sure).
I found I liked jigging and changed gear (went overhead as well) pretty quick and now I jig very often.
If you do want to crank it up I would say the setup will handle lots of pressure fished properly.
Enjoy! report back..........
