Hi,

Does anyone own a Ocean Kayak Cabo Tandem Sit On Top Kayak which they have rigged for fishing? If so, do you have any photos of your setup and tips you could please give me?

Also, any recommendations on which FF and GPS to choose which will not break the bank.

Thanks,

Rob

HI there Rob, I have a Cabo and reckon it is a great fishing kayak.  Best advice I can give you is if using it for a single person (and it works very well with only one in it) is use the centre seat.  A number of people will sit in the back and put weight in the front to keep the kayak balanced but a central seating position in my view is much better.  It is also a "dry" seat as there are no scuppers there.   I have another spare seat and it takes less than 5 minutes to rig if a mate wants to head out.   Seats with back support critical in my view.  Rest of the set up is pretty standard - see links on this forum.  Good luck!

Thanks Rockhiker. I purchased mine yesterday and will definately make sure I get it setup for a central seating position. Do you have any photos of your kayak?

Hi Rob have a look in this previous post. Some pics of a Cabo I used to own set up for single or tandem. Had two sets of rudder controls.Took a couple of attempts to get the rod holders in the right place but the finished set up worked really well. Heaps of room when used as a single as well.
