G'day Guys.

Keen to get anyones thoughts on these boats.
Have been offered a 2002 model ( 209 hours )http://www.modernboating.com.au/pg/boat_tests.php?id=101

It's powered by a 4.3 litre mercruiser and the few times ive been on it around North cape it cruises bout 35 MPH and is very stable but has tendency to 'fall off waves' and certainly isn't a dry boat - but with a few mods around the windscreen I reckon we could make it drier. Other than that its a good platform for serious fishing and the walk around is great for puka and workups.

There seems to be a real shortage of info on these things on the NET , so would like to hear from anyone with any info on Mustang Boats and or Mercruiser sterndrives.

The deal we have been offered is a trade.

Our Figlass Lightning 2001 which has a 115HP on its arse with very few mods , fishfinder etc and 229 hours + $18 000 to get into this Mustang which has.

GPS + Fishfinder
Double Bilge System
2x 80 Litre kill tanks
Rocket Launchers
tri axle custom braked trailer
Serious boat for serious fishing opposed to light run about for inner gulf. ( they look a bit like the new Trophys )

Sound like good deal to you?

Holla back !
will post pic of it from camera phone shortly

Pro-Fish,

Tobes and/or Lala will be the gents to speak to...there are a couple at DreamBoats (Westhaven).

Have been out on one and you are right, not overly dry, but comfortable and fishable all the same.

good luck!

hi pro fish

we have two 2150's in our care with out boards. It looks identical to our ones but with the inboard. The clears are really water tight which a bonus, the ability to fish various spots around the boat is great, is defently a great fishing platform, with trim tabs these boats are a great performer in medium conditions. The walk around aslo means you will get less water into the cockpit if **** hits the fan and the large drain holes mid ships and in the cock pit will drain it pretty fast.

Falling off waves...never a good thing for a boat so look for structural damage, particually around the cabin entry floor sills. The light construction of our boats has not handled channel slop very well and stress cracks are appearing, they dont take well to getting hit at the fuel dock so check the belting for impacts..a

engine...mmmm...mercruiser...mmm is it a petrol inboard??

does it have a back drop to hide the upholstery?

triple axel...crikey.

i have heaps more stuff to say if you want it...easiest to come in a have a chat or check our ones out.
