hi every one first post. This site looks like a good place to get info etc. So i want to be a mach jigger 200 300 gram mainly in the Hauraki Gulf and with charters in maybe better spots. Maxel reels look good and price ok but which one .looked at the osl08d and transformer f50c f60c  85 cm retrieve or hi speed f50h  f60h 97 cm retrieve. Don't want to spend good money and get it all wrong. Your help would be gratefully appreciated. thanks.

Hey Marius, you won't regret getting into mech jigging mate, it's brilliant.
As for the Maxel reels they are good as are many other brands BUT one rule of thumb I now apply to this form of fishing is go as lite as reasonably possible! I use amongst others the F30CH small, lite, heapes of drag great for around the Gulf. IMO

I have the f60h loaded with pe6 for kings and the hybrid 20 for snaps. Wicked reels, very smooth and light. Decide what line class you want and get appropriate size reel based on that. The high speed f60h is mint on under 300g but when getting up to 400/420g the lower speed would be prefered
