This marlin has stabbed a seismic cable that is towed thru the water at 4 -5 knots. The skin on the cable is really tough plastic about 3 mil thick. Where the marlin has hit it is on a plastic bulkhead and you would need all your strength to drive a sharp knife thru it there so it must have been moving at full ramming speed when it hit - I'm trying to find out some more info from the guys on the ship but I think it was 2005 most probably off Brazil.
