1998 Honda 4 stroke 50hp

Hi all
I found a crack by the propeller of my beloved 50. Issues with not being totally cleaned up during services or something similar. 
Ive been told it would be perhaps easiest to replace the whole gearbox. 
Any idea where I can find one for such an old motor? serial BAZL?? I'm in Nelson. Any advice welcomed!
