What made it epic is I had missed my courier who was delivering some Jigs so I had to go down to mango to pick up em up from the post office, I thought I'd chuck my stick bait rod in just encase. Picked up the jigs an went for a walk on the wharf, very airy feeling there as for the first time nobody was around! Weird cos its been freaken packed lately. Saw a large shadow moving close to my mates moored comm boat and fired a bait right into it, as I had expected it was a large school of fish but what followed I was not expecting, 6 or so kings broke from the shadow and chased my bait for 30m before the rest of the shadow suddenly decided to take chase too... Nek Minute a few big splashes and I was hooked up, the bugger swam straight for the wharf, I ran from one side to the other and put the drag up to max and just managed to pull him away from wrapping up on the pylon. He tried so hard to bust me off swimming out a bit, turning and coming back to the pylon. I had no idea how the hell I was going to land him, but lucky for me a guy came over and I kindly pointed out the wharf gaff. I asked him to aim for his lips but he got it in the guts. My first ever stickbaited kingfish! We agreed it was an easy 14kg. I told him since he gaffed it he can keep it, he was a very happy man, I was happy too as I would have lost my lure if he didnt show up. Well went to the pub for a quick beer and put my $2 coin in te pokies and first spin won $25...so went and bought a box.

So yeah not really Epic but I'm happy I popped my stick bait virginity and on a reasonable fish in a fish favoured environment. Bummed I didnt have my phone or camera on me...
