All this fuss about retrieve ratios and amount of line per crank is only going to be an issue if you are winding flat out(even then....wind faster!).......if you are blooping poppers or working stickbaits...all you are doing is retrieving line and seeing as a lot of stickbaits pop their head up after the stroke....a fast wind is not important as you sweep....wait for the head to pop up and then sweep again.....How is a higher ratio or high line retrieve ratio going to help you there?.......then when you play the fish its harder to get a wind on them because of the higher ratio.
IMHO its more important how smooth your drag is.....how much line capacity you have and how well its matched to your rod for the purpose intended...................if you want to rip your lures fast across the surface......just wind faster anyway

Your rod works most poppers and stickbaits.......not your reel.
