looking to buy a reel for topwater, I want either a catalina, twinpower or saragosa, what are peoples opinions on these? any others i should consider?

is spending the extra on catalina or twinpower worth it compared to a gosa?

Depending on how your gonna be fishing but of the reels you've mentioned the twin power or Catalina BUT if fishing off the rocks then maybe go the gosa.
I also recently bought a Penn Slammer 3 which I use off my Ski. Great reels and with an IPX6 water resistant rating perfect for adverse conditions such as Jetski, rock fishing etc.

Tight lines

Twin power are very good for their price. I think $649 at Go Fish. It also the newer 14 000 model.
I still fish my 10000 model with a JM 16000 spool. I have nock over plenty of 60 to 100 lb GT's with mine and it still in top nick after 4 years of fishing.I mean 4 years of about every weekend.

I'd spend the extra and get the twinpower or Catalina as they've got a higher retrieve rate than the Saragosa.

Rod and reel in Newmarket have a Catalina 5000h on sale at the moment btw http://www.rodandreel.co.nz/product/daiwa-catalina-5000h/dafrhn418xx500.aspx
