Not that I have ever used one of these reels but cause I can I will offer something to this........

How many times do you go out and buy some that suits your budget at the time.........6 months later, it sh*ts itself. Sometimes earlier so you go out and buy the next greatest thing that suits your budget. GREAT retailer love you.........

Go out and buy the best gear and be done with it, might cost a tad more this week but hell you wont have to buy anything to replace it cause it wont breakdown, and more importantly you wont lose a bloody good fish due to it not working with the pressure put on it.

Ive had one of these reels for a couple of seasons now and have caught some decent fish on it, including a EST 120 kilo bronzie and a EST 150 kilo mako, on the Mako we put heaps of hurt on it cranked the drag up and it handled it very well.
Yeh there are better reels out there but you will pay double for them.
Like a few people are saying for the price they are real value for money

I'm not saying anything about this reel or brand, I understand the importer brings in gear to suit our market, and big ups to him. The comment I made was more generalised towards our attitude towards fishing on the briny. If you fish to a budget (lower) and buy gear that fits a budget well don't be toooooooooooooo sad when it fails and you say good bye to a nice fish.

Luckily there are enough people using them to prove they aren't just going to fall to bits. Expensive doesn't always mean good, likewise, cheap doesn't always mean crappy.

Plus, if its good enough for AG, theres a better than even chance its good enough for me LOL

Thanks for all the responses

High all just new to the site as a mate emailed me this link. I'm a retailer in australia and have sold these reels, one of my best sellers next to avet. Our aussie agent has had no update when i last spoke to him and as this thread was dated early this year i was wondering if there was any news as to when the Pro Gear label would be available again?
Can anyone shed any light please.
Cheers Ash

I just took my pro gear in for a service and to try and upgrade the drags. we tested them out 10kg@strike and 14kg@sunset so still the same as the day it came out of the box and it has caught over 200 kings.... not bad for the price as an entry level jig reel
