Howdy folks, hoping you helpful fellas (and girls) can help me with a mobile data question.

As the title says, heading to NZ from Oz (Oct 27 - Dec 1) for 5 weeks with the wife and ruggie(s) ..... 6 berth camper and plenty of touring but ultimately heading Far North for the last couple of weeks.

As the kids are coming we are taking the older one out of school for a spell but she needs to be connected to keep up with her lessons ....

The wife is a google freak and E-mail junkie (not that I am much better) and the girls will want to surf/chat/stream/play etc .....

Sooooooo, I have poked around a bit and I can't find a decent data only SIM that will give me a large amount of data.

I'd also like a 4G dongle that we can use to tether all our devices to as we will also use our own numbers with roaming for voice.

If anyone knows of a good deal I'd love to hear back from you.

Thanks  heaps guys,

Cheers,

FrangaFry

Did you check out the 2 degrees data packs? Looks like 15Gb for $50. Might need to ask about coverage in the areas you are going to.

So, Spark seem like the go.

I've had a bit of a poke around and coverage is off your Telecom mob.  Can get a pre paid 4G DATA sim 50GB for 120'ish (with re charge options if needed).  I've just grabbed a TP-Link Mifi device from OZ:

and I'll grab the sim @ the airport (Spark shop right outside arrival gate - sweeeeet) ......... Tooo Easy (proof will be in the pudding though ....)

Fingers crossed we will at least get good signal around major areas (doubt I'll get a look in up Far North though)

Cheers,

Franga
