I can't believe my luck.
I had to post it here where people can understand how lucky that is.

I was given a book from an older guy up here who fished blue nose and puka for many years.

I hope because most of these involve foul ground or structure I might fill in a few gaps so when I travel I have plenty of spots to find Kingis and jig.

Interestingly lots are around 100m because when he fished they were still around in those depths in numbers.

There are also a bunch of marks out wide and up to 440m which are no good to me.

I blue nose fish down to about 350 then it's just silly.

I am away for a few days on the boat starting Sunday so I am buzzed to look at a few of these marks..

So I'm not the only one.

The nice thing about these being older marks is they may have been overlooked for a while, who can say.

A handfull of good ones would be a huge deal to me.

They run from Cape Brett to North Cape so a good spread.

Share the wealth........
I waste most of my money on fishing tackle. The rest I invest in women and booze.

That will keep you busy for years.   When ever I see GPS marks in magazines etc, I add them to my list and write down any useful info about the mark ie depth and species likely to come across ie Tarakihi, Snapper etc comes in handy when going to a new area.  Always good to try new spots in different areas.

Yes I do the same for diving while fishing the wash.

Any nice rocks that I am not familiar with go in for later.

I have the lowrance hds and my favorite feature is being able to swap the curser onto the sounder page and put my mark on the rock, not where the boat is!

It's idiot proof in that respect which in my case is a good thing.
