Went for first outing yesterday pm. Big run of saury behind the bar in 30m rounded up by Kahawai. Found tuna rounding up bait balls in 60m off Piha. Heaps of big skipjack and a couple of small Albies. Good to be out. Water temp getting to 24.

Well done sezza. What area and depth were you working for the day ?

Not too sure about area but we were in 100m+ depth.

As a discussion point rather than a gripe in any sense.
And as an outsider that sees great value in this comp.

Could or should we expect an allocation of the parking zone for the benefit of those not involved in this comp.
Would I be right in believing this is a public space or is it truely private that we are gratuitously having use of over the rest of the season.

I have entered this competition as a solo over some seasons now, and which the competition doesn't allow just to gain a parking spot.

But maybe it's time for the authorities to provide us all better facilities.
Particularly ones that can't be blocked by landbased fisherman and picnickers that don't realise that a ramp is for launching and retrieving of boats, not an empty parking space
For the shortest distance for those to waddle.

I found heaps of albies in 85-95m off the Kaipara.
