I understand where you're coming from Got-Ya but three weeks ago it was pretty much red hot out there.  Unusual for that time of year. When the blue water is in, it is on! The key is using technology I guess rather than the reactionary 'it was good two weeks ago and now the coast is flat so let's go' approach.

I meant on average over the years. From mid to late Feb onwards most years see the blue water in at 80m or closer saves a lot of gas. and as you know on the west coast we are only out there in good conditions. (Unless a comp is on (intentional dig)).

Snuck out for a quick fish Sunday, found the bait and picked up a passenger.

Looking at heading out over the manakau bar this weekend with my son. Is there still action going on in regards to strips and YFT? We haven't been over this side for a couple of years now. How wide should we be heading?

Just outside green water, 35 to 45m mark is where I would start. Find a bait ball and chuck a livey at it.
