Hello guys.
I have fished for YT in Australia once, with a PE4 and jigs up to 300g.
But, what would be the ideal measure of the leader and how many meters would you advice to go for big YT 30kg+ and nice tunas in those weights??
In the Azores, for the big tunas and big greater amberjacks, we use leaders from 70lb up to 120lb, and with 3m to 20m depending on the dept.

stay cool,
Pedro Tomás

Hi Pedros,
Sorry for the delay.
For YT up to 30+kg I use 3-5m of 120lb fluorocarbon.
I think for Tuna you can use lighter leader and it should be fluorocarbon too. You can use a shorter or Similar length for Tuna because they are less likely to reef you.
give it death!

Hi Pedro, in normal circumstances I use Flouro carbon upto 80lb about 3-4m but when targeting bigger models say at the Three Kings I switch to quality mono leader or even a shock leader of 120-200lb and go to 5m or longer to compensate for the heavier drag settings & hopefully avoid pulling hooks.
Tight lines
