I have a killwell 250grm with an avet on it I use for jigging a lot.
I have caught lots of nice kings including a couple this morning.
When I jig my line tends to pack on one side of my reel.
Even if I hold it on an angle to help it it still tends to load on the left.
My other rod is a 350grm with an accurate and it never loads to the side so it's not me.
I guess something is out of line?
Anyone had this problem.
Cheers.

I find depending on what way the drift is i get the line loading up on the corosponding side of the reel. It is frustrating but not as frustraiting as trying to lay the line with your thumb while jigging.
p.s. i can here the spin jiggers warming up their voices now especially you pottsy

I find it happens with most overhead reel as you are drifting it loads up on one side of the guides and therefore reel. Spin definately solves that

A narrow spool reel combined with a  correctly spiral/acid wrapped rod will solve the problem.

I get exact same thing but if I lean the reel during the retrieve from left to right it tends to build up less.

If the guides are slightly off the spine that may explain it....

Update.
Ok so I put the reel on a jigstar 250 today and went and got a king for the fridge.
I used it a lot and it feeds on In the centre all the time.
It's def something in the rod but I had Swordfish Steve take a peek and I have had a second look and I can't see it.
Who should I send it to in terms of a rod guy to check it out?
I could run it up to reel rods I guess?
It has a better action to me than the jigstar and I want it fixed if I can.....

I should add that it always loads on the left so I guess the reel seat needs to rotate clockwise a small amount on the rod..
Can this be done?

Woops only one drink in me to....I mean if it loads left it should (the reel seat) rotate left a tad.

You may be able to (carefully) slightly tweak the bottom 2 eyes to one side help shift the alignment without busting anything
If you think you can do something, or you think you can't - you are probably right

Send it back to Kilwell. If its there rod and its faulty they will fix or replace. Don't they have lifetime warranty's?

Sent it back to Kilwell and they were great as always.

He declared the guides and seat perfectly aligned on the spine which I agreed with.

After some research they moved the second guide from the real over a bit.

Looks funky as hell to be honest but if it works I am cool with it.

Will find out when the wind backs off................ and the huge swell........

Oh and it did help a little to wind with it on it's side but to be honest it was to radical to help much.

Real keen to hear how you get on with this as I have the same problem - using a CD rod and accurate reel.

Ok Silver lining I will let you know.

Mike (kilwell) said that he called around and the consensus was that the older blanks can do that sometimes or something.
He said newer ones are a bit different and it shouldn't happen.
I love the rod but there you go it's old technology in some way.
I have another 350 talon that doesn't do it so go figure.....
Mike said we may have to play with the location if it's not right but I hope to see an obvious change.
