Hi every one. Just wondering what far north jigging/live baiting for kings charter options there are up north. I've been on reel life and memory makers (awesome charters) but what are some other options for 4 or 5 people.

Really? Who pales in comparison that you've been out with? Those two have only been in the area for bugger all...

Been out with both numerous times, and top operators who really know their game. Regardless of how long they've been operating out of Tai Tokerau, they fill their boats because they cater to their customers well. They work hard to put you on top of good fish, provide a great experience and are such great hosts. They seek new grounds and keep their finger on the pulse of where fish are holding.

Kuri II is good for catering bigger groups but expect to be jigging at 45+ degrees out the back.

Who else is there? Be nice to know.

Do you really want ex-commercial guys who go for a drift around old spots that used to produce well in the day, and sit in the wheel house all day counting the minutes until home time?
How's your charter business coming along there BA?

Moet is now hooked up w memory makers for extended trips or large groups where two captains are needed. (three kings) etc. Robbie has a massive knowledge of the area and lionel grew up in the far north so also has a vast knowledge of the area. I think the host experience is as important as the fishing and these two are thebest hosts you could hope for. Just my two cents.

From the videos I have seen of the jigging master guys on memory makers charters why would you look anywhere else ?
If a skipper has never jigged or taken guys jigging it would be pretty frustrating its not easy putting jigs on fish and holding them there so there lines don't take off on a 45deg angle like was said previously .
Not to mention the boat load of synit rods that I hear they have .
Asking what tackle they have on board would be a good indication of what to expect , if they don't have any Jm , accurates or oceas on board I wouldn't expect them to be up with the play .

yip just like Phil and Linoel hard to believe they also use bait both live and dead and top water gear as well so jigging charters none of them are sorry to burst the bubble but it's a fact, as any good skipper will tell you, it pays to cover your bases any good fisho worth his weight would do the same when it comes to chartering a boat, after all the customer is always right

Being a personal friend of Lionel's I may be a bit bias towards him, but you really need to know the history of him and his family... Fish is in the mans blood, his old man Clyde is from the far north and is one of the most keen fishos I have ever meet... So I know where Lionel gets it from. As for experience he is very humble about what he knows and hardly ever speaks of it... He's a great skipper and has been piloting boats both big and small since his early teens. He knows how to play hard but when it comes to his clients he or even a close mate or two he pulls the hard yards to find the fish and have a great time.... Like all charters some days it doesn't happen... Bu that's the nature of the business he's in and I put faith in him to increase the odds in his favor.. The original question was regards to what operators are in the far north all will differ somewhat but they wouldn't still be in businessif they weren't all good at what they do... Phil and Lionel
