I'll be in Raro all next week and as well as going on a charter I'd like to do some landbased fishing .  So if anyone else is around please PM me as I'd like to team up with someone.
I'm staying around Aroa beach
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Cheers,
Mark

Hi Mark, target the passages, using soft baits or flys, you will pick up trevaly and many other reef fish, sometimes you will catch fish smaller than the bait and other times you will hit some good Bluefin.
If you are taking a fly rod cast at the reef bommies and you will catch lots of fish from Picasso fish, flame tail snapper, peacock grouper, cornet fish and many others.
Do not eat any fish from inside the reef, they may have cigatera poisoning and you do not want that!
All the best.

Oh yes if you want to go out over the reef call in to the avana passage and book Captain Moko, he is a very good skipper and he even fillets the fish and will give you some to take home.
All the best.
