I have one of those old ones that consists of a woven plastic material over a small triangle of plywood and a stainless cup type base with a stainless cross deep down in there.
It also has a belt with a pressure closure not velcro.

I have all kinds of large belts but find they are ungainly and slide around. Some have velcro closure which I do not like either.

I keep using the old one which does not slide around (fits between my hip bones) has a easy closure to adjust compared with velcro.

I need a second belt on the boat for jigging as I gave the large one to my wife and when she got a fish it slid around on her hips and did not work for her either.

I would like something like my old one only better or perhaps another old one if someone has one laying around?

I can't take a pic today, I left the thing on the boat.

What's best in a minimalist belt people?

THis one in my opinion, cost 3/5 of not much. Take the pin out and any rod goes in it. Doesn't slip around as its shaped well.

Use it more than any other I own. \

Yes there are some good fancy pants ones out there, but I would prefer to spend the $ on other things.

Whatever your preference, make sure it can be worn high enough comfortably to get over the side of the boat.

I used to use a blue dyna-tech one with the pin removed used it for jigging here and casting for GT's, now my rod dictates I don't use anything.

Little daiwa belt gimble. Small and comfortable and wont scratch your rod or boat.

This style works for me, they are light, padded, give good support, DONT scratch the boat & you will need to go thru 8 of these to match the price of a top end gimbal. Approx $30-$40 sweet.

Those are $40 from H & F, Wasabi, jarvis walker do a similar model for alot cheaper at your local tackle store. But at $40, still a reasonable deal. Thumbs Up
