I wouldn't mind having a go at them just for the hell of it. Avoiding eels would be a headache I think as they would be interested in similar baits.

At the moment I’m trying to catch as many species as I can so I will probably be asking lots of questions thank you so much for the info

I haver fished for them but I know they are in the Waikato river, which has loads of eels too.
