Hi guys.i know this topic has been discussed at length in the past but just wanting to know if there's anyone out there that regrets converting from tiagras to talicas for game fishing, mainly pulling plastic.Been addicted to this game for the last 3 summers now and have had a great run with the tiagras but feel the smaller more compact tallicas would suit me better in regard to kids the wife and ease of transport.I also use the light gauge system and 80w seems overkill when only using a fight drag of 5kg.The concept of braid also appeals to me as it wont be necessary to respool mono every other season.I havint priced them up yet but would expect 5 tallicas loaded up with braid would be on the north side of 6k.Any experience positive and negative from guys that have taken the leap would be much appreciated.

The Talica 50 has a LRS type drag curve... it’s really a 80-130 stand up reel amd doesn’t seem to suit 5kgs of drag that well.

20s are the best size for scaling down. I use half makaira half shimano. I have a 10 I use most days which has 600mon it. Any smaller than 20 and the reel becomes cumbersome to use with a big harness. I've got one on a talica 8.
If you are hesitant go 25/30 if you're at 80 now.
