Feared

so how do we get them to fear us

.(MPI) did not want to prosecute fish dumpers for fear it would jeopardise future operations.

MPI Fisheries have to go they have only one agenda and its to cut us out of our right to catch a feed.
the other is to feed everything to the investors.

both Politicians Parties are in bed with these Aholes.....

MPI did not prosecute fish dumpers in case it scuttled a very important operation to catch fish dumpers. Confused

Conclusion--MPI condones fish dumping

MPI have no fear of the public until the public start to hold the government accountable, and hence the Ministers start looking for scapegoats to slaughter to save their own skins. The scapegoats of course being MPI management, but now of course they will claim that the 'bad managers' have already resigned for some completely coincidental reasons.  I wonder if they got a good payout or maybe even jobs in the Fishing industry or other government departments. Be interesting to know!! If you want to hold MPI accountable you need to target the credibility of Nathan Guy and John Key.

Listen to that and you will see why Scott Gallacher had to 'resign' so quickly.

We have a written law in this country. That is, it is illegal to dump prime fish. That law was broken, and not enforced. In that case why have laws. There is increasingly lawlessness in this country. It begins with the example shown at the top.

This is also unfair on other commercial fisherman. That is, those commercial fishermen that do not dump fish and do not flout the regulations. Unfair because in the publics eye they are all put into the same basket, given the same label as the dumpers.
So where is the incentive for those that abide by the rules, when those that break them get off scott free

Yep. However you then have to pay a deemed value on that species. If I remember correctly. So why bother bringing them in.
I think this is why on board mincers will become the new environmentally efficient and effective way of fishing. No more visible floating/washed up wastage from juvenile/adult mortality or non quota species dumping. Viola, no more wastage. Out of sight, out of mind. Unless of course the mincers are monitored for species/size and/or tonnage put through. ROFLMFAO.
