Anyone able to give me some details on where this area is (spoil grounds) in the channel please?

Just had a look on the Navionics web app and sure enough it's on there... What exactly are the "spoil grounds"?

I think it has something to do with being a control area for research.  The edges of the channel fish well for snapper & gurnard.
