Had one in the gear today 160m inside hook. Pulled some string then dropped it. About 10 boats working the hook when we were there and 2 fish taken from that approx area with another taken in shallower.

Was a great first Marlin for Michael and second for the boat.
Thanks to JP & Tony @ yeehaa (awesome custom lure Big smile, second swim second strike  - this time a solid hook up).

The crew also thank Arthur @ Tairua Sport Fishing Club, Carl on Epic and Brett at Tairua butcher - fantastic support and encouragement. Great to see such passionate people involved in the sport.

We had a smaller fish up in the lures earlier in the day, but could not tease it into take a Black Magic Freedom Glandslam in evil. Also caught a small but angry Mako on the way back in.

hey well done fellas.  we had a shot se of the pins same day and today we worked a similar area to where you guys got yours after our kingi fish  and had a stripey come in and smash the azure mirage, i guess similar lure to both of those, unfort. it was short lived.

Any1 got any news from down this ways, heading dwn this weekend for a look?
Seems to have gone very quiet down here over the last week.
People say if fishing was easy then it would be called catching, I say these people who say that obviously had a bad day's fishing.

Nice, thanks for that, had a look at an sst today and that doesnt even look to appealing, looks like all the good water has moved down further south into the BOP.
