I'll find out what exactly we're up to and let you know Kezza. Might work out well if you aren't actually interested in winding fish in - our lures don't even have hooks. Will let you know via PM

Finally found the time to get those photo's uploaded.  (Anyone know why they are so grainy, they looked fine before I uploaded them?)

We caught the Albacore, Blue Nose and GemFish on the Monday and the Marlin on the Tuesday.   Trolled all the way out to the 500m mark on the Tuesday but no sign of bait or birds.  Heard all the action was happening around the 120m mark off Glinks gully so we decided to pull the gear and blast back into shallower water.  Worked the 120m mark off the Hoki for the afternoon.  Saw very little bait or birds but the water was 21+   Had a Marlin in the gear around 2:30.  It scoffed our large Black and Purple lure with a solid hookup.  Ended up losing the fish at the boat just before we had the leader in hand.    Got the gear back into the water and before we had time to contimplate what could have been another Marlin came crashing across from the starport side to gobble our lure.  It missed but came up again chasing our squidly lure on the port out rigger.  After harrasing the lure for what seemed like an eternity it manged to inhale it for another solid hook up.  Half an hour later we had the fish on board and hand shakes all round.

Just need to get some more good weather and days off to get back out there.

Got out for a few hours off Piha this morning. Not chasing marlin - just tuna - heaps of them everywhere from30-60m. Heaps of bait fish and gannets.

Hoki is starting to fire.
John & Linda Pattinson went out two days ago, brought home two stripeys 108 & 140kg. Also played another to the boat before dropping. South of the bar.
Looking good, just need the weather gods to play ball.
