Hi all,

I'm looking to buy a snapper reel, as my beloved and much used Kilwell Genesis from FishbyFly is finally starting to cark it.

I'm considering another Colton, probably a CRG II. I'm also thinking of a Lamson Konic from Rod and Reel. Any thoughts on either of these? The Colton Torrent is currently outside my budget, and they're out of stock anyway.

However, if anyone has a reel they are willing to part with for around $200-$300, please get in touch. I don't mind at all if it's beaten up, as I do the bulk of my fishing from the rocks and my reels reflect this. Just so long as they're mechanically sound. And lucky.

I fish 10WT from the rocks, and would prefer larger arbor.

Thanks, Tom.

Do check out some of the newer cheaper Sage reels , there is a die cast 2200 series 10wt reel that is put together with a reddington predator rod , with a rio fly line that is retailing for about $600.00 inclusive? . I am not sure of the reel on its own , and I have not tested one of these yet myself but I am willing to say I am sure you would get your moneys worth. Sage would not sell a 10 wt reel if it's drag was not capable. And with the fish you have caught on reels with next to no drag , why not just wrap the line around your hand and put the money into a sweet rod and fly line Wink

Thanks all, Matto, I'll look at the Sage. I agree about the drag. I've gotten on fine with virtually no drag at all for snaps, so I probably shouldn't be too pernickety.

Thanks Desmo, that looks like a good reel, but as you say, it's probably a bit smaller than I need.

Mowerman, probably a bit grunty for what I'm after, ta.
