Was looking on trade me for a bottom to mid range jigging real as i am new to this style of fishing, and came across the " Taniwha HPX" Has anyone used these reels, and how would you rate if you were to rate it.

No worries, for that sort of money though I would probably be going with something a bit more proven. They may well be very good reels but without thorough testing and reviews I would be a bit hesitant - the major brands back up their products with great servicing and warranties and there are plenty of options in that sort of budget.

Whichever way you go, you will love jigging, it is a hugely addictive and adrenaline filled way of fishing and an absolute ball when you get it sussed Thumbs Up

I am not familiar with those reels.
 
I agree there are "mainstream" reels out there you may want to consider...
 
Do you have a rod yet?
