Im looking at getting a Griffin Odyssey Spider Fly Tying Vise. They are $175 from Rod and Reel in Auckland. Has anyone had a play with this model?

Thumbs UpI gave the Griffen Odyssey Spider vise a good coat of looking at, seems very straight forward and easy to use, not too complicated, it was my first choice for value for money, and I almost ordered one but......then I saw a Griffin Blackfoot Mongoose vise (my second choice) from a vendor on E-Bay, and I have ordered it, purely because it was much cheaper than I could get it anywhere else. I will be very interested in how it performs, after reading and watching many, many, reviews of many, many, different vices. Thanks to all those on here that have put in their opininions on various types and their experience with them.
I will let you know my opinion after I have given it a bit of a go, if its no good, someone might be in line for a cheap vise!!!

I will be interested in your opinion on the Spider Camdog, if you get one, one thing that I noticed from vendors, was that you had to order the base separately, the vice comes with the clamp. However the vice pedestal is a standard size and will fit any other base that you might have.Smile
It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing, by people who can't fish.

Like good rods, we can all advise what we like, but finding out what you like is the best test... There is no wrong, if you like it, you like it, and that's all I have to say about that!
