I have the 9/0 version, it has caught a marlin (yay) kingfish, sharks, gemfish and hapuka mostly. They are a strong well made reel, although old fashioned these days. Despite that they work rather well. A 6/0 has a smaller line capacity but is a similar reel. Be a good reel for livebaiting kings. loaded with braid it would also be ok foor deepwater stuff like bluenose and hapuka, as long as you're not going to encounter monster fish. Plenty of marlin have been caught on them too although you'd have to watch the line capacity.

Caught my first marlin on my trusty old 6/0. Got totally smoked by the first one I hooked tho (was a blue of tidy dimensions) reckon I've caught just about everything on it and it has never let me down. Got it serviced last year and got the big thumbs up after 25 years of workin it hard.

I have two of 'em, one the high speed version, 114H red colours and the standard speed black model.
