Ripple fisher make a model that can do both GT79Reversal, otherwise you will need 2 rods

Really need two rods to do either effectively.
If you mostly fish in NZ then probably a stickbait rod is better.....then you can just use stickbaits overseas forget the poppers unless really small.

Seems overkill to have two rods when you first start but it makes a difference to have the right rod......did you see the itm fishing show the other week....nomad catching loads of fish on top, ITM boat not...........???????

We were fishing around them that day aswell and caught loads on stickbaits

I use an OTI Tuna Sniper 24kg popping rod,its Ok,its no Carpenter or Ripple fisher, but I do use it for both. Swims most stickbaits around the 100g mark pretty well, as long as you don't sweep too quick. was only 1/3 of the cost of the pre-mentioned stickbait rods. I also use a CD Gamecaster 10-15kg rod that I got 2nd hand for $200, its a little more sensative in the tip which makes it a little easier to swim stickbaits.

I'll echo the JM Monster 80... this is a highlt under rated rod in my opinion.... they are fantastic rods an a pleasure to fish with a 10000SW... it handles medium stickbaits superbly ( starwalkers a perfect match ) and small poppers and casts a mile...
