Does any1 know if the Diawa Dogfight 6500 Z has a optional larger spool that you can buy..? Standard spool fits 500m of PE5 and 400m of PE6, but for marlin im thinking i mite need more line than standard spool... Wanting a spin reel for throwen baits at Marlin!! thoughts any1 !!!

This reel has quick retreive (6;2;1 so can use for top water action aswel.. Am i making the rite choice? go fish has the Diawa Dogfight 6500 Z for $1099 so im considering buying 1..

Dogfight 7000 being released later in year.
I might have Alzheimer's, but at least I don't have Alzheimer's.

If you can get a dogfight for $1099 then i would go for it, bargain.
Perfect for top water, bit too quick for deep jigging.
As for spools from what i hear the new 7000 spool will fit onto the 6500. I have heard about some custom spools for these reels but i have not seen any myself.

The Saltiga 6500 fits the Saltiga 6000GT(Japanese Domestic market ) spool and the Saltiga 7000 spool.

If you target a marlin....you don't need a larger spool...the standard spool of dogfight should do the job...I will more consider on the best charter with the best skipper which Iam going with....my 2 cent opinion....

Good skipper should be able to manuver the boat......to assist angler in fighting the potential fish......
