I bought a 2nd hand T curve blue water spin today 15- 24 kg. Just wondering what you guys think about a Stradic or Fin nor for this or what else would you recommend.
Basically just want a reasonable quality entry level setup without spending a fortune as I am just a newbie with popper and stickbaits . Will mainly use from a boat.
It was a bit of an impulse buy so i hope the t curves a reasonable:)

T curve is fine for poppers a little stiff in the tip for sticks but good enough place to start off with and casts real well, I would personally go a shimano product before a fin nor, but see If your budget stretches to a daiwa saltist and you won't regret it.

I would look at getting a Twinpower 10000. and you can always upgrade the rod at a later stage IF you wanted too. even saying that a T/Curve and Twinpower will be a good set-up.

Agree with Sid, a Diawa saltist 4500 size would go nice, a Saragosa would also be OK in the 8000-10000 size, but not the cheapest.

My 2 cents worth, I tried the other day to get a Twinpower and was told that Shimano had dropped this in the 2011 range.  From what I can gather (have not actually used one yet, but have one on order) the new Saragosa 10000f is the bomb (and at a decent price too).

The threads I have read on this reel so far have been very promising, but I will only be able to further comment when I get my hands on one.

Mind you this is all Oz info, so might be different for you fellas (god knows you get a better class and range of 2pce LBG affordable rods for your local market, so it wouldn't surprise me to find out that the reel offerings are different as well). 
Live every day like it's your last and try to regret nothing......

was suprised nobody ever asked whats ur budget...

anyways.. if u @ the 200-250NZD mark... check the new Daiwa Sealine 4500H. Available only in Ausie though.

Im saying this coz I tried it. Cast well, holds plenty of braided line and 15kg of drag.

appreciate the feedback guys. Hoping to keep budget under $300 and can land a stardic 6000 or saltist
4500 for that. Any preferences? Saragosas don't seem to be sold anymore by some suppliers in states but as kenshin suggested I need to look at the sealine also

Have you thought about a spheros mate? Available in NZ for only just outside your price range.

My one issue with these is the clunky handle. Am looking at upgrading to a higher end handle if it's not too pricey.

Imported a Saragosa 10000 from the US.
Using it on a 250 Jigstar.
Great value for money.
