wondering what sort of gaffs you guys are taking along when targeting a marlin

To be honest mate...nobody has ever landed a marlin off the bricks here and you would be the first!
They catch them in aussie but thats because they get juvenile fish passing their way...we dont get juvenile fish here for some reason.....If you were to get into that situation, a flying gaff would be the way and plenty of people to help,i would think and also congratulations because you would be the most famous angler in New Zealand and all over the magazines!
Once the idiots turn up..Im outta here...No time for Drama Queens.

yip i know it hasnt been done YET.  but  if im going to give it a go i shore want a big f off gaff make that 2 of them. that could handle the job if i was to be so lucky as to hook up.

Yep I don't know obviously but would imagine a flying gaff would be the go... Probably worth having the end tied to a rock too
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish caught will we realise we can't eat money.

i take a medium sized flyer and medium fixed gaff on my missions (borrowed off my uncles game-boat).
 
depending on how close you can get to the waters edge at your spot you may have to add an extra section of ali.  i had to as some of the ledges around karikari are quite steep.
out there doing it or STFU
