I have been looking at some low/mid priced range reels for getting into this topwater. In reading a lot of the forums here, I know a lot of you would recommend to save up and get something better, but I can't stretch my pocket money.

have been looking at the
Shimano Stradic 8000FI/ Saragossa 8000
Quantum Cabo PTS 80
Okuma Salina II 8000/ VS80/ Cedros 80
Daiwa Saltist 6500

Any experience, advice or pros/cons with any of these reels would be appreciated as I have none.

I've been using an 8000 saragosa off the rocks on my top water setup and landed some ok fish to just under 20kg.
 
Fits plenty of PE5 braid. Max drag is only about 12kg and have noticed ya have to really crank up the drag knob to get the best of the drag on it.

Saltist 6500 for topwater - my pick from your list...

Well built/Solid reel, good retrieve rate, only downside I think it is a little heavier than some of the others...

what about a fin-nor OS a 6500 or 7500 very well  built but possibly a little heavy but well upto the task of handling a decent size king thats for sure, for the money you cant go wrong.

I'd say possibly consider a Saltist 4500 as well, bit lighter than the 6500 but still plenty of grunt

Fin Nor 5500 Offshore would be my pick.They way under $300  and you may find them on Trade me for $200 or less.

Bit like weighty like a anti tank gun, rather than a M16 that is light and can fire them out all day long. It ain't all about amount of drag, plenty of cheaper reels with heaps of drag out there now, you need a bit of finesse to go with it. I'd add Sustain to that list. Good ratio, lightish and smooth as silk.

I agree with above,you need to be able to fish all day,In all honesty I havent fished over 10-12kg of drag on the spool with the long rods.If more is required I just palm it ( If for instance you are dragging them out of a shallow area using the boat.) 
I would choose a lightweight reel with reliable,moderate drag anyday over a tank with a little more that I wont use.
Agree the Sustain fits in that bracket well.
