People say if fishing was easy then it would be called catching, I say these people who say that obviously had a bad day's fishing.

Oh no, that'll double the amount of gear Boulder carts around now that he's got the top water bug.

Top effort, thats a nice sticky fish.

Taking sportfishing charters to the next level.

bugger wrote a report and the lappy farted and lost it
anyway we planned a top water trip to Maunganui for a few days and on the first day I got bugger all while Steve after swiping my only chrome bottom ship caught us snapper and jd,s for tea
Second day we towed the boat to Whangaroa to fish Taheke and the cav,s Taheke was again a bit of a fizzer so we went into the tea pot to toss some surface baits around. After about 50 casts a huge hole appeared behind my lure and it was serious Game On. Steve in the light tackle style they use at the tea pot gunned for the deeper water to give me a chance and all I could do was watch the colours pour off the reel.

finally after a fair bit of sweating and grunting we landed a nice king that was too heavy for me to hold up as I was knackered

Back at the weigh station in Whangaroa I was surprised to see the 30kg scales bottom out

Out came the big scales and they showed the weight at 32.4kg . I was well pleased as this is my pb on top water and the second fish over 30 on that same set.
after landing that fish we stopped and got some nice snapper on sb for out tea of fish and chips again

great weather at the close of play and a top weekend for me
Thanks to Swordfish Steve for showing me around his part of the north.
