I have the odd fly published in fly mags over here in the British Isles for pike, trout and salt.

  Thanks for that Brent, looking at the flies again - I am intrigued with the red holo and the green holo flies - are they filled with hot glue? and the tails; what are they please Brent?

No worries Jeanne.

The 'red and green holo heads' are built using a flat sheet of foam - 2mm fly foam (you should be able to get something similar at any good craft shop) - to which I super glue holographic tape by 'WAPSI' and cut out a bullet shaped head. Once I've built the fly body up with white EP fibres and a wing (or upper body) of Rams wool or similar 'natural hair' in red or chartruse. I then fold the 'red or green' holo head near the eye of the hook on itself using a good dose of super glue. Then simply apply expoxy eyes. A light layer of epoxy on top of the holo head and around the eyes and your done.

By the way if you've never tied a crease fly here's the step by step - their deadly for surface action.

By the way for holo sheets certain tinsel type wrapping paper will do the the job to.

thks for sharing the flies with us. Impressive. Just a quick query?  what  camera did you  use to take the pics of the  flies.  I have taken photos of flies at home here for inclusion on the web. Turn out ok but could be better. Look foreward to your next posts.

Hey Te awa,

No tying on You-tube I had some flies in Fish & Game mag, a year or so ago. I'm back in Gods-zone as of May for good, so would mind tying at a few demos if people were interested. Looking forward to a good ass-kicking from a few kingies next summer.

Barebones I use an Olympus E410, 10 megapixel with pretty sharp macro settings... couple of years old now - could pick up one pretty reasonable on fleabay these days I reckon.
