When I log in and tick the box to remain logged in I get a virus alert from AVG anti-virus checker.
Anyone else had this problem?
Any ideas to resolve it?

I assume its the free AVG?, if so uninstall any MALWARE programs (Antispyware), install the FREE "Malwarebytes" update and scan all the PC....may be spyware...really common. If that doesn't fix it Uninstall AVG / re-install but dont activate its firewall....causes too many probs. Use the default Windows firewall.

was having same problems, did some research on avg and found  out that the company put out an update that re sets AVG, stops certain parts of updates in the  program, trying to get people to buy, this was done to stop torrents of full programs on the web,I dont know if its correct i uninstalled of AVG pro and went back to EST NOD34 and not having any problems

I do not know why so many people use free antivirus software when you can purchase a really good one (NOD32) for $60.00 first year and $40.00 second year etc.......your paying top dollar for DSL internet and scrimp on AV software. End of all problems with nod32 and no I do not get a cut from selling it. NOD32 is a KIWI designed AV software with an Auckland help desk phone. What more could you ask. Bite the bullet and buy it.

I could not agree more AVG is absolute crap, Eset's NOD32 is one of the best and is affordable, doesn't slow your machine down and is one of the most decorated virus suites.

So so many people say to me but with AVG I have never had a virus...false sense of security I tell them as it doesn't know what you may have...

With antivirus software, you get what you pay for. The admin team at Fishing.net.nz use Nod32 & it gets a Thumbs Up from me.

Thanks everone for your advice -I'll try NOD32. I used to use Trend Micro before AVG but found it slowed the computer.

Great now I hope all forum members follow suit and support a Kiwi company that I know sells / backs up a brilliant product........to all you users of "other" paid AV solutions replace with NOD32 you will not regret it. I heve been selling their product (No commision) for the last 7-8 years with absolutely no glitches. I cannot say that for ANY of the others especially NORTON which slows even the latest PC's by as much as 30%!!! I am doing myself out of business here.
