This is a fly that have give me many nice
times fishing for stillwater trout/rainbows
here in sweden. It swims like a damsel
and should be fished on a extra fast sinking line
and 1-1,5 meter straight monoleader
for the best swimming effect. Short sharp pulls and
marked pauses is deadly with this fly.

Best Regards
P-A

http://www.hareline.com/magichead.html
and

will give you some more info Kevin... good things. I have used them and similar concepts I have come up with myself on Kings. They work, but with the kings we were on I have no doubt anything probably would have at the time.

This is a nice fly PA. Can imagine it being very effective at Otamangakau

Yep Simon. Feather Merchants are the Hareline agents. Don't think they bring them in. I had them on the list for the next order when I was there (I organised the Hareline agency) but not sure if it was ever actioned... I will check my latest product listing from FM when i get back from running the dogs. If enough people here wanted some I'm sure Nate would get them in... bloody pricey though.

That You Tube video showing the swimming action looks brilliant.

Reckon using that with big strips of bunny would be awesome.
Clark (or anyone) that has used the heads before, are they pretty bullet proof or do they get destroyed pretty quickly? Really interested in having a look at these things I guess.

Cheers for the info.

I think maybe Rod and Reel may have some or at least have a line on them. If someone is passing by they might be able to quiz Peter Scott about them... He mentioned them to me last time I was in there... I only just recalled the conversation...

Nick, this is the fly...

Most of the big Aussie fly shops have them I think. I can't see them listed anywhere on FM's list but if enough want them I have no doubt they'll bring some in in the next order...

You can also get them direct of Petijean's site direct...

I've still got Nick F and DizzyG's flies sitting here from the last swap... the only flies to turn up from about 8 participantsCry.

I guess if we get another going they could be their entries? I'm happy to forward them to the swapmeister of this new swap with my own.

Who wants to "meister it"???

If you are desperate to get some action into your fly and don't have Magic Heads.

Split some Clear plastic tubing of the appropriate size and slip it onto the hook with the concave side facing the eye and Super glue it. Then when the fly has been tied trim the tube to size. Old Scots remedy for keeping the pennies in the sporran.  Have Fun.  Jax
