These are the original type of Japanese snapper jigs.  There are newer versions out too but expensive.  How does $25-30 per jig sound to you?

Yeah I thought so too.

Sounds like the same price or less than what we pay for zest jigs chris!just as a matter of interest Is there any reason zest jigs are twice as expensive as some of the others?

  • quality of finish,
  • superior ORIGINAL design,
  • quality assist hook,
  • excellent field results show Zest are actually very good jigs
  • advertising support,
  • jigging education & promos
  • cost of lead risen 300% over 18 months,
  • Japanese quality components
  • similar prices to jigs world wide.
  • Zest is not expensive, its just that others are cheap.

I think you might be comparing Zest pricing to one other brand that is gaining some support.  Other cheap brand is sold direct by the importers.  Apart from lower prices, what have these cheap brands contributed to jigging? What drew you to long jigs in the first place - was it the cheap brand or was it Zest?  Which brand has invested heavily to bring this sport to you with jig education, clinics, sponsoring this forum.   Zest is sold through retailers, there is a middle-man margin built into Zest prices.  This is the same for all Shimano, Penn, Daiwa and other quality products that are sold via a retail network and is the way of the tackle business.

You might ask the same of Corolla vs Mercedes, Transonic vs Sony, Bond vs Shimano.  The choice is yours to make. Quality & performance costs.
give it death!
