Hi guys,
I have just been experimenting with a few Piper patterns for my trip to nz, they are basically Fatboy's with the head pushed to the back to leave me a nice beak, the trouble is i was feeling so festive i forgot to do anything about controlling the tail to minimize tail wraps.....
They are tied on Gami SL12 in 4/0 and they look real purdy so i dont want to shred them for hooks if i can help it, is there anything i can add to help me?
there tied with a long (5" past the bend) tails out of super hair + DNA so are fairly supple.
They have had their first coat of zap-goo2 to hold the fibers to the head, could i TRY to carry the zap-goo2 back further to stiffen?
Any ideas would be more than welcome,

Thanks
Trev

Hey Trev, I fished my piper fly the other night around a buoy... and sure as eggs I got tail wrapped eventually (no fish bit) - as well as getting the hell knot in my shooting line which resulted in me snapping it (GRRRRRRRR!!!!). So I'm thinking that zap-a-gap is the answer as well to the wrapping, it shouldn't affect how the fly looks.  As for the shooting line......
