 RIB                  Copper Wire [Brown varnish]

 BODY              Black Floss 

 WING CASE   Slip from the black and white  
                           Tip  of a Turkey Tom tail feather                        
 THORAX          50/50 blend hare and opossum saddle fur

 THREAD          Black

 HOOK               Mustad 94840 # 12 to 16

 
This is a Nymph that has served me well fishing rivers and streams all over the North Island . 
 
Lets see your Go To Nymph other than the Good Old "Hare and Copper" Which is El Supremo! in my book.  Jax

Hi Jax, I like the look of this and will get busy with a little something in reply - the angle of the tail is quite interesting. Do you tie all your nymphs like this or was is because the tail is sitting over the wool tag? You usually see them in line with the hook shank. Bit of a signature perhaps?

Yes I tie the tail at that angle deliberately and the Egg Sac is to ensure a good Splay of the hackle whisks.

No real reason except I have always Liked well Splayed Tails on my Nymphs as it looks good to my eye and it seems the trout think it is O.K. as well. Hope they will produce for you.
