with the number of excellent quality fish being taken on softbaits recently I thought it would be cool to start a thread that contains all the piccies and a little bit of info about each capture in a single thread rather than being lost in to the ether within reports.

PS...it doesn't need to necersarily be a BIG snapper, quality blue cod, john dory, 'puka, kings, tuna or whatever really!

rig: abu cardinal 501, berkley dropshot 4kg, 10lb braid, nuke chicken 5' jerk shad.

depth: hooked him right in close in about 4 meters of water then played him out in water about 10m deep.

weight: 4.5kg/10lb

boat: 13ft tinny

location: thompsons point, waiheke island.

crew: just me.....

first snapper caught on soft plastic.

Not a huge fish at all but taken off the rocks with a hit in the burley trail less than 2m off the rocks and a foot from the surface....magic

Starling Squidgy snapper, 2-4 kg, Okuma Epix 300 with 8 lb Fireline. Old chartreuse firetiger shad.
