Hi everyone,
Im a newbie fisherman, im thinking to go to whatipu beach to try my luck. Does anyone can please tell me how far the walk distance from the car parking spot and the best spot if possible. Been trying at cornwallis wharf and kaitarakihi beach but no luck at all. Thinking to try charter boat over auckland but it seems i cant afford it so new spot for surfcasting is best option for me.😂
So if anyone would give me the info that would be really appreciate
Thanks

15 to 20 min walk depending on where you go . Easiest spot in a beginner is around to the left to the Eastern side of Paratutae Island. Good luck

On the way out to whatapu, you go past a place called"destruction gully"worth a look, hell of a climb back up the hill but can be productive .february/march, once down there go left to rocky point.

If you want to fish the beach, Whatipu can be quite productive. Regardless of where you fish in that general area, be it Destruction Gully, Paratutae or the beach itself - make sure it is on a day when the swell is well down
