Budget kayak for newbie

Hi all, I'm in the market for a kayak and while a Viking or similar would be sensational its simply not in the budget. I've stumbled onto Wave Passion Kayaks (Elite 4 at $699) and they seem OK for the $$$. Has anyone had any experience with these or even some input from someone with more experience than myself. Thanks in advance.
