straight off the beach with sack of Berley in the surf to target Trevs and snaps. Kawhia is a sure thing.

The entrance was a famous locally kingfish spot in the early days you would be lucky these days and with the current a stick bait type of lure could be worth a shot.

Walk to the left end of beach to newchumbs.( dont know how to spell) takes about 1/2 hour. Fish off the point is awsome. Seen big snaps and kings at my feet. Take berley! Lucky you!!

No, large baits with as little weight as possible.

Harbour should have trevs, snapper and KY this tome of year too. Even spotted a few kingfish crusing the harbour shallows last month while we were down there.

All tides from memory......but maybe play it safe and see if you can head out at full tide. Straylining whole pillies would be the go. If you can get fresh ky whole fillets would work great for big snapper.

If you head out to new chums at full tide you will get very wet as need to cross the creek 2mins in to the walk. Its ankle deep or less at most stages of the tide apart from high.

Massive easterlies this weekend (wind and swell) so be careful if you decide to head out there
