Gidday fellas. I've got one tail light not working on my led submersibles. I'm pretty rural so can't just run it into town quickly. Are they fixable or is it a replacement job, I need it done before Friday as I'm heading up to Auckland on Friday arvo. Cheers Shane

Depends what is wrong - mine the LED drivers went funny on one side - brake light on with indicator, no brake light etc on one side.  Have you checked your car on another trailer (ruled out car socket wiring?)
Check trailer wiring for corrosion or broken wires at connector - my trailer both wires (each side) inserted into trailer connector and salt got in as connector not designed for this (installer did not setup properly) so full of corrosion which I think eventually killed drivers - but also confused me as fault from corrosion and also in lights themselves.
I fitted a box under winch - ran new lights into this and one wire from there into trailer connector to car connector.

Also make sure to buy good quality LEDs - Trojan are fine - there are cheap Chinese ones around that fail very quickly apparently.

Personally I thought LED waterproof and no bulbs - great but in actuality have heard of plenty of problems here and via my mechanic.  Gotta love salt water....

Good fishing trip nothing breaks, great trip catch fish.

Hmm best I get an auto sparky onto it I think. The trailor is only 6 months old and the plugs less than that after I failed to put trailor on properly and never made it out the driveway a few months back🙄. I haven't got enough free time before the weekend to nut it out myself. Thanks for the info👍

Yes time or money - or with a boat both!  Did lights work properly after repair?

Yeah they have been working fine since repair, up until Saturday just gone, although I guess it's possible a stretched wire has finally given way. Time or money, I have neither lol

Bummer doesn't sound right that they were water damaged if quite new - though one of mine failed at 4 years and you have to buy the pair of lights.  I didn't go back to supplier as 4 years old and frankly the time and effort involved didn't seem worth it as I am in Akld and they were in Hamilton...as I recall one of the features of LED lights is "submersible"?

Did original seller come to party in some way?

I brought the whole lot as a package about 6-7 months ago from the South Island. I will be inquiring about any possible warranty for the lights.

Hope its ok to chuck this in here, but the conversation came up today about using a trailer with led lights hooked up to a newish (2016)Ford Ranger. On regular trailer lights everything works fine but when hooked up to his boat trailer with led lights, not so good. Apparently Ford supply a harness to overcome this problem, has anyone else come across this?

Is this an American wired vehicle?
The Yanks wire different...and have done so right back into the 60s... up under the dash
They have .. damn got to rem how this goes now.. something like this
Trailer wired for the rest of the world cars...
hook onto a American car,, the brakes become indicators, the indicators become brakes.. but hit the brakes the indicators go off...
I has to do with having 2 brake lights on the rear but when turn on indicators one of them becomes the indicator.. flashes
So either have to make an adapter between the car and trailer connector , but that doesn't work quite correctly as well... but brakes become correct red, and something like indicator stays on when braking...

They only real way is to connect the trailer loom up under the dash, cutting to the looms under the dash... but dont know if this applied to post mid 90s/ early 2000s American cars...

Mr Google showed the Ford adapter so guess it is a known problem.
