Any recommendations for a good slow jig rod. My (older) Shimano T-curve has caught me a lot of fish, but pretty new things keep catching my eye in the tackle shop, very light and sensitive, super slim blanks etc.

Price range: up to $500
Mainline: 20lb braid
Jig weight: 80 - 130g

Cheers.

We have a few specialist slow jigging style rods that would suit in our new year sale starting next week.

We don't have any dealer in NZ yet.
Black Hole Cape Cod Slow Pitch jigging rods are extremely stong. The blank weights are 2.9 oz - 3.1 oz.

We landed 100 lb yft and 70 - 80 lb AJ with the rods.

Boat City in Kapiti have a great range of Black Hole rods. Appear to be very well made and ultra light. Only caught snapper on mine so far but it's great to use.

I have a slighty older "Bay Hunter Razor live nano" Synit and it would have to be the best rod i have ever owned.  It has a excellant extra hook-up rate over anything else and i have cawt heaps od big snaps and kings and even big puka on it.
Very, very impressed by Synit slow jig rods and would highly recomend spending that bit extra to buy once and buy right.

Black Hole Cape Cod rods are our Black Hole USA brands. We developed the rods by testing extensively and you can get them only from Black Hole USA.

NS rods which make Black Hole brand is the number one rod maker in Korea and they make excellent rods.
But you don't see our Black Hole USA rods there as our Black Hole USA rods are developed by our selves working together with rod designers of NS rods.

I'm very well versed with what comes out of the NS factory. I've been in this game long enough to know what everyone is doing.

Like I said same meat different gravy, I'm sure the Blackhole brand sold here have very similar qualities both in actions and materials at great prices.

Hey MIB, is there any chance you can draw up a list of your rod ranges/weights and alongside common useage? I realise you do a lot of custom work and variations on action etc but I would be interested to know what range of rods is used for what. (does that make sense?).

Thanks for warm welcome here.
It seems Black Hole USA rods are new to here. I know Sinyt rods very well. They are well made rods.
But I don't want to talk about other rods as it is not nice.

After I encountered Black Hole Nano rods 7 -8 years ago, I am amazed at the performance and strength of the Black Hole rods. I will share my experience with the rods here. I am sure you will be impressed.
I will check which Black Hole rods sell at the NZ shop. Black Hole rods have varieties of rods from high end rods to economic version of rods.
I have fished long enough to know which rods are good.

The range at Boat City covers entry level to high end and appear to be selling well.

Always nice to see different products.

Good to know some uses Black Hole Cape Cod USA rods in NZ. :)

Both 10'6" Black Hole Cape Cod Surf rod and ultra light Black Hole Cape Cod Tai sThlow jigging rod are amazing.

Here are pictures of catches with those rods.

10'6" Black Hole Cape Cod Surf rod.

This ultra light Black Hole Cape Cod Tai Special blank weighs only 1.4 oz and the complete rod weighs 3.8 oz, but I landed 150 lb halibut, 40 -50 lb tuna, 40 lb AJ, ect using 15 - 20 lb drag.
I don't thinkl any other rod makers make this kind powerful, but ultra light rod yet.
I used this rod for jigging for halibut, ling cod or rockfish for three days in Alaska last year and landed about 3,000 lb fish for three days using this ultra light rod.
