Fellus, I'm getting into slow pitch & micro jigging & one reel in particular the Stradic 2500 FK which currently has 832 on it might get the sinking braid treatment.
I understand the theory & techo stuff surrounding the different braids but have never used a dedicated sinking braid.
So am keen to hear from guys who have used it!
Does it make a difference in terms of getting the lure down with wind & current?
Anyone have opinions on which brand etc. have been looking at Spiderwire Ultracast Fluoro braid any thoughts?
Cheers Pete

I'm pretty amateur but also tried some once. I can't remember type but it was dark green. It worked somewhat. But in the end changed it back to thinner 6-8lb braid that was a flouro colour.

I found the colour hard to see when a fish was taking it etc.

Decided I was having more success flicking soft baits.

What I have found more successful is having a 7ft-8in rod with microwave guides. It does cast further giving lures/softbaits more time to get to bottom. Especially when casting forward of the drift. Mine is an Ocean Angler.

I think use the lightest weight possible lure wise to hit the bottom
It's the slower sink rate we want to get the snaps time to see it
If you add sinking braid it's the same effect as going next micro jig up
Your not gonna catch less fishing on 25g jig vs 21g jig
