Hi guys,

I was wondering if you could help me with purchasing a paddle?
There are just so many out there and I'm a bit lost to be honest.
My kayak came with a two piece aluminium one but I have a feeling that it's just not going to cut the mustard.

Cheers,
Dan

Hi Dan,

I just use the standard Propelz Speed 2 piece that came with my kayak when I bought it.

I'd describe myself as an average paddler, I probably get no further out than a kilometre or so and 10km is the furthest I've paddled in one session.

I guess I should carry a spare one, just in case the first one breaks. You don't often hear about that happening.

Ditto with Rob, I think a lot of us fit into that category. My propelz is showing little sign of wear after a years use, it could be a little lighter, but the more you pay often the lighter the paddle. A lot of guys that upgrade from the standard paddle they get with their yak tend to go millennium paddles. I've heard good things, but never used them myself.
