Pins North side of Stevies?
I know nothing though, having only had one go at live baits at the harbour entrance. No keepers but bloody exciting watching fish smash your livies.
I'll leave it to someone more knowledgable.

Those pins hold fish but there is very swift current so you need to get it right. You will see the upwelling.

How's it
Late report but spent 2 days fishing the pins past Stevensons landed 30+ Kings for both days
Kept 6 the first day to be smoked
Smallest 10 kg biggest 15kg
Fish were lil bigger day 2
Bought 7 back with us (between 4 anglers)
Ranging in same size as day one night lives just a hearty jig sessions
